A lot of us guitar nerds have an understanding with our spouses – they wouldn’t know a single coil from a pickguard, so we sort of select our own Christmas presents.  Usually our spouses feel the same way about whatever they’re into.  One of my favorite rituals is to go out to all the music stores on Black Friday and see what the deals are.  One year I got a brand new PRS SE Custom 24 for almost half price.  You never know what you’ll find.

Sadly this year I wasn’t able to go out on Black Friday.  For the sake of future readers, here’s the scenario: it was 2020, and the Covid-19 pandemic had already killed more than a quarter million Americans.  Cases were shooting up, and the CDC had recommended basically not leaving your house unless you had to, and to avoid having a traditional Thanksgiving with tons of people in your house, and when you are in public you should wear a mask.  I believe in science, so I stayed home.  A lot of Americans didn’t listen, and the rates after Thanksgiving increased significantly, as predicted.

Side note – You know, I never talk politics on this website.  But when political leaders ask the public to ignore science, it’s really, really hard to avoid it.  But avoid it I will.  The above paragraph was not an opinion – it is what actually happened.

ANYWAY, I jumped on my computer to shop for my own Christmas presents, and I recorded a video of it.  Here’s the video:
