First – I bought a used MacBook Pro 15.  Quad core i7, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD.  It’s a powerhouse, but Apple changed the MacBook keyboard sometime around 2015 or 2016 and I’m still getting used to the keys.  You breathe on them and poof!  A keystroke.  First world freakin’ problems.  Maybe I’ll blog about why I run Windows for gaming and Mac for music.  If I haven’t already.

Right now it’s March 17, 2020, and the coronavirus has everyone stuck at home.  The point is to prevent the virus from spreading way too fast and overwhelming our hospitals.  Hopefully people are staying at home.  And since you are, well, you might be interested in some YouTube channels you aren’t aware of.  I do this every so often.  Here’s my current sub list for YouTube.  I will feature a few…

For Smart Music Info: Adam Neely

Adam is a really smart jazz guy who has fairly intellectual videos on a variety of topics.  He makes the difficult easier to understand and I love his channel!

For Live Sound and Lights: EventElevator

Some of these videos are in another language, but really great channel if you love seeing big PA and lighting systems.

For Cool Guitar Player with Cool Accent: Paul Davids

I’m watching a lot of this channel lately.  Great playing advice.

Cool British Live Sound Stuffs: Soulsound

Some of the videos on this channel are awesome advice about live sound.

Guitar Playing Tips Awesomeness: Tim Pierce

Tim is a super famous session guitar player and super nice guy.  He runs an academy if you want to learn guitar, but a lot of his content is free on his channel.

Good Live Advice Content: Churchfront with Jake Gosselin

Hear me out.  I’m not what you’d call a religious guy.  This channel is for people who do live music at churches.  But his advice is 100% on point for anyone doing live concerts on a semi-reasonable budget.  Jake gives great advice and he doesn’t force God down your throat (thank God.)  That said, if you break out in hives when someone says God, pick another channel to watch.

(Side note – in the wise words of Neil Peart, “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.”)

If you want a list that’s actually clickable, you can view my subscriptions page.  If you’re just curious, read on.  (Side note 2 – I have no content on my channel.  For some reason, 9 people subscribed.  There’s nothing there!  At least… not yet.)
