I’m sharing my HX Stomp patch for the guitar solo tone I used in the video, just in case anyone is interested. You can download it below:
That’s a zip file – when you open it, you’ll get the hlx file that you can use with a HX Stomp or a regular Helix or Helix LT. It’s super basic – it’s a Tube Screamer into a Klon into a Marshall, but I really like the thickness to the tone.
I hesitated a little bit while making this video – if I’m producing something musical, I normally don’t just wing it and then live with the results. I’d never put playing this sloppy on an album, for example. But I think it’s good to show “the real thing,” meaning if we were sitting in a room and jamming, I’m a bit of a sloppy player. I am, after all, simply a rock guitarist.
